    More details about the country

Vatican City (State of the Vatican City, Stato della Città del Vaticano) is an ecclesiastical state, enclave in Rome, and the seat of the Roman Catholic Church. It can be found on the Tiber River’s west bank and is the smallest fully independent nation/state in the world, with a total land area of 0.17 square miles. Its form of government is a papacy, with the Vatican palace acting as the residence of the Pope and the government or the Holy See acting as the figure of authority of the Roman Catholic Church, thus administering the laws that govern Roman Catholics.

Vatican City can be a worthwhile and interesting location to attain higher education and obtain an academic degree. Although the enclave has a small number of approved higher education institutions, such as the Pontifica Universite Gregoriana and the Pontificia Universitas Lateranensis, it does compensate by providing in-depth training on a variety of study subjects such as Psychology, Theology, Philosophy, History, Law, Social Sciences, and others. In addition, the State of the Vatican City is a suitable location to practice foreign languages, including a tongue that is considered to be the foundation of many European Languages such as German, English and Italian – Latin. This is due to this language being used as the lingua franca for the legal papers of the independent country, specifically the edicts issued by the Holy See. There are also various opportunities to actively participate in volunteer and internship programs, with favored selections including Arts, Humanities, History, Public Relations, Journalism, Media, Economics, Finance, Education, Architecture, Media and others.
