United Arab Emirates (UAE)

The United Arab Emirates (Dawlat al-Imārāt al-ʿArabīyah al-Muttaḥidah or UAE) is an independent federation of seven emirates found on the Arabian Peninsula’s east coast. The capital of the country is located in the largest of the emirates, Abu Dhabi (Abū Ẓaby). Abu Dhabi occupies more than three-fourths of the total land area and is the sovereign state’s center of the oil industry. Apart from the capital the federation also has several other important city centers. Among them is Dubai, the capital of the same-named emirate and the United Arab Emirates’ chief port as well as a commercial and financial center. The federation shares its borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman.

The United Arab Emirates can be an interesting and worthwhile location to study abroad. Similarly, the universities in the country offer a wide selection of study subjects such as Administration, Engineering, Management, Business, Information Technologies, Media, Accounting, Law & Jurisprudence, Education, as well as Finance & Banking. Furthermore, the country is a suitable location to practice one or more foreign languages such as Arabic and English with the opportunities to hone this and other practical skills, including volunteer and internship programs in the fields of Accounting, Administration, Business, Communications, Computer Science, Finance, Design, Hospitality, International Relations, Journalism, and Tourism. However, one should bear in mind that a certain code of dress may have to be followed in certain locations outside of campus and a student visa is necessary in order to enter the country.
