Togo

Togo (République Togolaise/the Togolese Republic) is a sovereign country in West Africa. It shares borders with the countries of Ghana, Benin, and Burkina Faso and has a coastline on the Gulf of Guinea. The capital as well as the largest city and port of the country is Lomé, found on the Gulf of Guinea. Lomé is furthermore the country’s administrative, transport and commercial center. The sovereign state has a relatively diverse terrain, including six geographical regions such as sandy beaches, mountains, plateaus, and others.

At a glance, Togo would appear to be an unsuitable location to study abroad. However, it can act as a stepping stone in attaining higher education and obtaining an academic degree. While the country does have a limited list of accredited universities such as the University of Lomé and the University of Science and Technology, it does compensate by providing in-depth training on a variety of fields of study such as Agriculture, Biology, Architecture, Landscape, Administration, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Engineering, Law & Jurisprudence, Medicine, Health, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Mathematics, Sociology, Philology, Education and Economics. Furthermore, the country’s institutions of higher education have tuition fees that are relatively less costly compared to other sovereign states such as South Africa or Saudi Arabia. Togo is also a suitable location to participate in volunteer and internship programs, especially in the fields of Agriculture, Arts, Business, Health, Education, Ecology and others. Furthermore, the independent state is a suitable location to practice French as this language is the country’s official tongue.
