South Sudan

South Sudan, also referred to as Southern Sudan or the Republic of South Sudan, is a sovereign country located in the northeastern region of Africa. The independent state shares its borders with Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The capital of South Sudan is Juba, a river port situated on the western bank of the Baḥr Al-Jabal River. The capital also acts as the commercial center for agricultural products produced in the area.

South Sudan can serve as a stepping stone in attaining higher education and obtaining an academic degree. To begin with, while the country does have a relatively limited list of accredited universities, it does compromise by providing thorough and high-quality training on a variety of fields of study such as Agriculture, Biology, Business, Management, Finance & Banking, Administration, Education, Environmental Studies, Philology, Humanities, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Tourism, Hospitality, Accounting, and Logistics. In addition, both tuition fees and costs of living in the country tend to be comparatively less costly compared to other sovereign states such as South Africa. Furthermore, the country’s official tongue, including the one used during tuition, is English, thus permitting students to practice their foreign-language skills, particularly during lectures or when participating in volunteer/internship programs in the fields of Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Arts, Law, Biology, and others. However, a student visa may be necessary to enter the country and study at its institutions of higher education, therefore proper planning should be done as the acquisition procedure can take time.
