More details about the country
Somalia, alternatively known as As-Sūmāl/Jamhuuriyadda Dimuqraadiga Soomaaliya/the Somali Democratic Republic/Soomaaliya, is an independent country in Africa, located on the Horn of Africa. The country shares borders with Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti and has coastlines on the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. The capital, main port and largest city of the country is Mogadishu (alternatively spelled as Muqdisho, Mogadiscio or Maqdishu). The sovereign state’s form of government is a federal republic with two legislative houses.
Somalia can serve as a stepping stone in attaining higher education and obtaining an academic degree. To begin with, the country has a relatively extensive list of accredited universities, including the Puntland State University, the Nugaal University, and the Mogadishu University. Similarly, the country’s institutions of higher education can provide in-depth training on a comparatively broad range of study subjects such as Computer Science, Information Technologies, Health, Economics, Administration, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Medicine, and Management. Apart from the previously-mentioned advantages, the institutions of higher education in the country have relatively affordable tuition fees while providing thorough and high-quality training on each of the fields of study available. Furthermore, the country is a suitable location to practice foreign languages such as Arabic (it is the country’s official language) as well as to participate in volunteer programs and internships in the fields of Healthcare, Agriculture, Ecology, Education, Business, and others. However, one should bear in mind that a certain code of dress may have to be followed when attending certain institutions of higher education or locations beyond campus.
