More details about the country
Sierra Leone, officially referenced as the Republic of Sierra Leone, is a sovereign country in West Africa. It is a country whose economy is primarily based on subsistence agriculture and mining, with the main natural resources being diamonds, bauxite, gold and titanium dioxide via the mineral rutile. The country’s capital of Freetown has one of the world’s largest natural harbors and can be found on the Sierra Leone Peninsula, at the tip of a range of hills, known as Serra Leôa (“Lion Mountains”).
Sierra Leone, despite its location, can serve as a stepping stone in attaining higher education and obtaining an academic degree. Although the sovereign state does have a relatively limited list of accredited institutions of higher education, it does compensate by providing thorough and in-depth training on a broad variety of subjects such as Management, Health, Education, Agriculture, Business, Finance & Banking, Administration, Engineering, Technology, and Humanities. In addition, the country’s universities have international recognition. Apart from the previously-mentioned advantages, the country’s official tongue is English, permitting students to hone their foreign-language skills during tuition and every-day communication. Furthermore, the Republic of Sierra Leone is a suitable destination to participate in volunteer programs in the fields of Ecology via wildlife conservation and healthcare through training in illness prevention and aiding those who are already ill. However, students should be aware that tuition fees can vary greatly depending on the institution of higher education and the study program of choice, therefore proper planning and research should be done prior to enrollment and application.
