San Marino

San Marino, officially known as Repubblica di San Marino or the Republic of San Marino, is among the smallest sovereign countries in the world, holding 5th position after Vatican City, Monaco, Nauru, and Tuvalu. It is a landlocked Republic found on the slopes of Mount Titano and shares all its borders with Italy. Its form of government is a unitary multiparty republic with one legislative house, with the heads of state or Captains-Regent being Luca Boschi and Mariella Mularoni. The capital of the landlocked country is San Marino.

The Republic of San Marino can serve as a stepping stone in attaining higher education or obtaining an academic degree. Although the country does have only one institution of higher education, it does compromise by providing in-depth training on subjects such as Design, Management, Education, Engineering, History, Psychology, Media, Medicine, and Communication in addition to the university itself having proper accreditation and international recognition. In addition, the country’s official language, including the ones used for tuition, is Italian, thus allowing students to practice their foreign-language skills. Furthermore, the country often provides opportunities to participate in internships or volunteer programs, especially in the field of Education. In addition, the tuition fees in the country tend to be less costly compared to other sovereign states such as France, Norway or Belgium. Similarly, the costs of living tend to be relatively affordable, while the standard of living is rather high. However, proper planning is necessary as a student visa may be necessary and the procedure of acquiring such a document can take time.
