The capital, economic, administrative and cultural center of the country is Bucharest, referred to in Romanian as București. The capital can be found on the banks of the Dâmbovița, a small tributary of the Danube River, where the middle of the Romanian plain is situated. Romania can be considered a worthwhile location to study abroad. This is due to several factors such as the range of available subjects and accredited institutions of higher education, opportunities pertaining to internships and long-term jobs, as well the potential to obtain scholarships in addition to the affordable costs of living. Romania has a rather extensive list of accredited universities, with many having international recognition. This includes the popular institutions of higher education known as the Babes-Bolyai University and the University Of Bucharest, which are featured in the 2020 QS World University Rankings. Similarly, the country is a suitable location to study a broad range of subjects, including Management, Accounting, Business, Administration, Economics, Engineering, Education, Arts, Medicine, and others. Furthermore, although the tuition fees can vary greatly and be at times rather costly, there are many scholarships available that can counterbalance the costs for studying. In addition, Romania has a relatively high standard of living yet everyday expenses tend to be affordable. Romania is also a country where there are multiple opportunities to participate in internship programs, especially in the fields of Business, Education, Engineering, and Healthcare. Similarly, there is the potential of students finding a suitable long-term job after graduation.
