The country can be found within Western Asia on a small peninsula on the Persuan Gulf's western coast. The country is among the sovereign states with the largest deposits of petrol. Most of its population is concentrated in the cities including the capital. This is due to the country consisting mostly of arid deserts resulting into a lack of plants and water.

Qatar can be a suitable location to study abroad due to certain contributing factors and opportunities. While the country does have a relatively limited list of accredited institutions of higher education, it does compensate by providing in-depth training on a rather broad variety of subjects, such as Engineering, Arts, History, Culturology, Pharmacy, Health, Medicine, Information Technologies, Management, and Business. In addition, the country is a suitable location to study and practice Arabic as this language is the country’s official tongue, used in government matters, business, and tuition. The country is also a suitable location to participate in internship programs relating to the fields of Fashion, Journalism, Media, Medicine, and Engineering. However, students should be mindful of certain aspects pertaining to this country which can become problematic. For instance, the costs for tuition in the institutions of higher education in the country can become rather steep. Similarly, the country has a high standard of living with equally high costs for everyday necessities such as transport and food.
