Papua New Guinea, officially known as the Independent State of Papua New Guinea or P.N.G, is an island country found in the southwestern region of the Pacific Ocean. It consists of the eastern half of New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, the Bougainville and Buka islands, as well as several other small offshore atolls and islands. The capital of the country is Port Moresby and can be found in the southeastern part of New Guinea on the coast of the Coral Sea. Papua New Guinea’s form of government is a constitutional monarchy with one legislative house, with Queen Elizabeth II being the ruling Monarch, represented by Bob Dadae as Governor-General.

At a glance, the Independent State of Papua New Guinea would appear to be an unsuitable location to study abroad. However, the country can serve as a stepping stone in obtaining an academic degree and attaining higher education. Furthermore, the country is a suitable location to participate in volunteer programs, especially in the fields of Education, Medicine, and Ecology, via wildlife and nature conservation, teaching children and assisting healthcare professionals including administering first aid. Also, the country’s tuition fees are less costly compared to other countries such as Australia or New Zealand. The Independent State of Papua New Guinea is also a suitable location to practice English as this tongue is among the country’s official languages including government matters, tuition, and business.
