    Pakistan, alternatively known as Islām-ī Jamhūrīya-e Pākistān/the Islamic Republic of Pakistan/Pakstan, is an independent country in South Asia. It is among the most populous countries in the world, ranking in the 5th position. The sovereign state shares borders with the countries of Iran, Afghanistan, India, and China. The capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is Islamabad, located at the Himalayas’ foothills in the country’s northern part. However, the largest city is Karachi, which can be found on the coast of the Arabian Sea. The official languages of the country are English and Urdu.
