    More details about the country

Oman, alternatively known as Muscat and Oman/Salṭanat ʿUmān/the Sultanate of Oman, is an independent country in the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, where the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea meet. It is a monarchy with two advisory bodies, with the Head of State being Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said Oman. It shares borders with the countries Yemen, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, and has coastlines on the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and through its exclave the Ruʾūs al-Jibāl, on the Persian Gulf. The capital of the country is Muscat and the official language is Arabic.

Oman can be a worthwhile location to study abroad and attain higher education. The country has a rather extensive list of available and proper accredited institutions of higher education including the Sultan Qaboos University, which is featured in the 2020 QS World University Rankings. Similarly, the Sultanate of Oman’s universities offer a broad range of subjects to study, including Management, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Marketing, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Finance & Banking, Administration, Philology, and Humanities. Furthermore, the country offers an opportunity to participate in internship programs, especially in the fields of Finance, Engineering, and Business. In addition to the previously-mentioned benefits, the Sultanate of Oman is a suitable location to practice and learn Arabic, a widely spoken tongue in countries such as Saudi Arabia. However, one should bear in mind that a certain code of dress may have to be followed when attending certain institutions of higher education or areas outside of campus.
