Nigeria

Nigeria (not to be confused with Niger), officially known as the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is an independent country in West Africa. It shares land borders with Benin, Chad, Cameroon, and Niger. It has a coastline on the Gulf of Guinea which in turn gives it access to the Atlantic Ocean. The sovereign state is among the most populous countries in the world, ranking in 7th position. Nigeria is also a country rich in natural resources, with the primary one being petrol and natural gas. The country’s national capital is Abuja with Laos, the former capital, being the sovereign state’s leading port as well as a commercial and industrial center.

Nigeria may also serve as a location to obtain an academic degree and attain higher education. The country has a rather extensive array of accredited and internationally recognized institutions of higher education. This includes featured and favored universities such as the University of Benin, the University of Ibadan, and the University of Lagos. Nigeria is also a sovereign state that includes in its exhaustive list specialized universities such as the Federal University of Agriculture and the African University of Science and Technology. Similarly, the country’s institutions of higher education also permit students to study a wide selection of subjects with favored programs including Management, Business, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Technology, and Physics. Nigeria’s official language is English; it is also the tongue used during tuition, therefore students will be able to hone their skills in understanding and communicating in this widely spoken and international language.
