Kosovo, alternatively known as the Republic of Kosovo/ Republika Kosovo/Republika e Kosovës, is an European country located on the Balkan Peninsula. It is a landlocked country which shares its borders with Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, and Montenegro. Kosovo is the smallest country on the Balkan Peninsula with a total land area of 4,210 square miles. It is a relatively young country with a rich history. The capital and administrative center of the country is Pristina (Prishtinë, Priština). Kosovo is a multiparty transitional republic with one legislative house and uses euro as its currency.

Kosovo can be of valuable help in obtaining an academic degree and attaining a higher education. To begin with, the country has a sufficient number of institutions of higher education with proper accreditation and recognition which offer in-depth training on a commensurate number of subjects such as Philosophy, Philology, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Economics, Law & Jurisprudence and others. In addition, the country is a suitable location to practice communicating and understanding foreign languages as the country’s official tongues are Albanian and Serbian. Furthermore, English is also among the widely spoken languages, including many programs are available in this lingua franca. Apart from the previously-mentioned advantages, Kosovo’s institutions of higher education have relatively moderate tuition fees even though they can vary depending on which university a student chooses to attend. There are also multiple opportunities to participate in internship and/or volunteer programs, particularly in fields of study such as Business, Ecology, Medicine, Education, Agriculture and others.
