    More details about the country

Iran, officially known as the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a mountainous, arid, and ethnically diverse country found in southwestern Asia. Most of its terrain is taken up by a central desert plateau with all sides being ringed by lofty mountain ranges. Most of the country’s population of 82,743,000 lives on the edges of the desert plateau. It is also around the edges of this plateau that many of the largest cities, including the capital of Tehrān, located at the southern foot of the Elburz Mountains. The country has also one of the largest petroleum reserves ranking at third place according to OPEC’s 2018 research.

At a glance, Iran would appear to be an unsuitable location to study abroad, particularly when taking into consideration the country’s location. However, this sovereign country can significantly assist students in obtaining an academic degree. To begin with, the country has many accredited and internationally recognized universities and colleges with popular selections including the Sharif University of Technology and the University of Tehran. Similarly, Iran’s institutions of higher education also offer a wide selection of available subjects. For instance, students can select to study Engineering, Humanities, Computer Science, Management, Architecture, Mathematics, Medicine, Accounting, Chemistry and Biology. In addition, the country is a suitable location to practice English and Arabic, two of the world’s widely spoken languages. However, one should bear in mind that the tuition fees can vary greatly. Also, many of the institutions and campuses tend to adhere to a certain type of dress code.
