Honduras

Honduras, officially referred to as the Republic of Honduras or República de Honduras, is a country located in Central America. It is situated between the countries Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. It has coastlines on the Caribbean Sea as well as the Pacific Ocean and includes within its 43,433 square miles of territory the offshore Caribbean part of the Bay Islands. The country has two important industrial and commercial hubs: the capital Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, the second-largest city in the sovereign state. The country was once known as Spanish Honduras as a means to distinguish it from British Honduras or Belize.

At a glance Honduras does not appear as a suitable location to study abroad. However, the country does have several perquisites which can be of help to students seeking to attain a higher education.
