More details about the country
The Republic of El Salvador, often referred to as El Salvador, is a country of Central America as well as the smallest and most densely populated of the sovereign states found on the continent. It is a country which despite the lack of level land, is a traditional agricultural country with a high dependence on the export of coffee beans. It is also highly dependent on the service sector. The capital of the country is San Salvador. El Salvador shares borders with Honduras, the Pacific Ocean, and Guatemala. It is the only Central American country that lacks a Caribbean coast due to its geographic location.
El Salvador can be a worthwhile and interesting location when it comes to higher education. To begin with, the country has about 35 universities with legitimate accreditation, including Universidad de El Salvador, which is the oldest institution of higher education in the country, and the Universidad Centroamericana "José Simeón Cañas" (UCA), which specializes in Social Sciences, Engineering, and Technology, Arts and Humanities. Several of the universities also offer Ph.D. programs in fields of study such as Medicine, Dentistry, Sociology, Philosophy, Journalism, Education, Economics and Culturology. El Salvador is an ideal location to practice and learn one of the widely spoken languages in the world, namely Spanish. This is due to this language being the official tongue of the sovereign state including the one in which many programs at the institutes are taught. Apart from the above-mentioned advantages, the country is also a suitable location for students seeking affordable tuition without compromising quality. Such a benefit stems from day-to-day expenses being relatively low in addition to the tuition fees which are less costly compared to other countries such as the USA. In addition, there multiple volunteer programs that can help in gaining valuable experience and skills, with popular selections including Construction, Education, and Health Care.
