    More details about the country

The Republic of Ecuador, often referred to Ecuador, is an independent country in northwestern South America. It shares its borders with the countries Colombia and Peru and has a shoreline on the Pacific Ocean. It is a highly popular tourist location due to its diverse culture and its equally diverse ecosystem including many endemic species. The country differs to an extent from other countries in South America in that it has two main centers of commerce where the population is highly concentrated. The first center is the capital of the sovereign state, Quito, located within the Andean highlands, a geographic location in the north-central part. The second major center of commerce and high population density is the city of Guayaquil, found on the west bank of the Guayas River.

As already mentioned, Ecuador is a highly popular tourist location due to its vibrant culture and diverse nature. However, the country should also be considered a worthwhile location to obtain an academic degree. There are several reasons why this sovereign state ought to be taken into account when choosing where to attain a higher education. These include the country’s exhaustive list of accredited universities, with the popular choices being the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and the Central University of Ecuador. Similarly, the sovereign state’s numerous institutions of higher education offer a broad range of subjects which can be studied with favored selections including Arts, Ecology, Medicine, Earth Sciences, Natural Sciences, Hospitality, Environmental Studies and others. Apart from the previously-mentioned advantages, the Republic of Ecuador also provides an opportunity to study Spanish and to immerse oneself into a culture which is relatively unaffected by tourism, which can be quite beneficial when it comes to certain fields of study. The country furthermore offers the chance to participate in volunteer programs which can help in gaining useful skills and furthering one’s knowledge on a chosen field of study. For instance, a student can become a part of a project pertaining to Wildlife and Environmental Conservation, Health or Education. There are also internships related to Community Development, Human Rights, Eco-tourism/Environment/Wildlife Conservation and others. Tuition fees also tend to be less costly compared to other countries such as Brazil.
