    More details about the country

The Czech Republic, also often referred to by its informal name adopted in 2016, Czechia, is a landlocked country located in central Europe. It consists of the historical provinces Bohemia and Moravia along with the southern tip of Silesia. The capital of the country is Prague, a city of rich history set on the Vltava river within the Bohemia region. Its neighbors include Poland, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany. The Czech Republic is often visited by tourists due to the architectural beauty of its cities and natural surroundings as well as the mastery of its garnet jewelry.

Czechia is a country that holds a relatively high rank in the world education ranking list, taking up the 14th position. There are several reasons why the country holds such a high position within the ranking system and why it is often recommended as a location to study abroad, especially among European students. These include the sovereign state’s long history of providing higher education. For instance, the oldest institution of higher education in central Europe was founded in 1348 in Prague. Also, the country’s numerous universities have produced many international and native graduates who have played an important role in one or more fields of study. These include Franz Kafka, a famous writer and Gregor Mendel, a scientist famous for discovering the many of the rules of heredity. The country is also a suitable location to study abroad due to the broad range of subjects which can be studied including Medicine, Management, Economics, Business, Arts and Administration. Also, many programs are available in English allowing a student to practice their foreign-language skills. However, one should bear in mind that the tuition fees for private institutions can be costly. Yet, this potential setback can be counterbalanced by taking advantage of student organizations such as the Erasmus Student Network.
