More details about the country
Curaçao (Land Curaçao, Pais Kòrsou) is an autonomous/self-governing island within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is located in the Caribbean Sea about 37 miles to the north of Venezuela’s coast and is considered to be part of the Lesser Antilles, in particular the southwestern arc of the archipelago. The capital of the state is Willemstad, situated on the island’s southern coast and is split into two halves by the Sint Anna Bay. The two parts of the city, Punda and Otrabanda (“Other Side”), are connected by the Koningin Emma Bridge.
At a glance, Curacao would appear to be an unsuitable location to study abroad and obtain an academic degree. However, the country should be considered a worthwhile destination to attain higher education. To begin with, although the country does have a limited list of accredited institutions of higher education, it does compensate by providing in-depth training on a variety of study subjects, such as Law & Jurisprudence, Engineering, Economics, Business, Architecture, Technology, Information Technologies, Accounting, Finance & Banking, and others. In addition to the previously-mentioned benefits, Curacao is a suitable location to hone practical skills such as communicating in English and Dutch, both via everyday communication as well as via participation in internships and volunteer programs in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Communication, Finance, Arts, and Education. However, one should bear in mind that tuition fees can vary greatly and a student visa may be necessary in order to enter the country and attend the institutions of higher education.
