    More details about the country

Cambodia is an independent country located on the Indochinese mainland of Southeast Asia. It shares borders with sovereign states such as Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. It is mainly a land of plains and great rivers including the Mekong River which dominates most of the land. The sovereign state lies among important overland and river trade routes, resulting into the Kingdom of Cambodia having a significant role in both the economy, geopolitics and history of Southeast Asia. For instance, the country has influenced and in turn been influenced by countries such as China and India. It has also been affected because of its location by foreign nations such as the USA and France. Such influences can be seen best in the capital, Phnom Penh.

While Cambodia is often recommended as a prime tourist destination due to its culture and the beauty of its nature, it is also an excellent location for furthering one’s education. This is due to the country offering a remarkable list of accredited institutions of higher education, most of which can be found at the capital. Popular choices regarding the available universities include the Zaman University, the National University of Management, and the Royal School of Administration. Apart from the momentous list of institutions willing to accept international students, Cambodia also offers a wide range of subjects. These vary from the popular Management, Economics, Business, Law & Jurisprudence, IT, Tourism, Arts, Finance & Banking to ones such as Medicine, Archeology, Journalism, and Earth Sciences. There are also curious subjects such as Fashion and Animations. Besides being able to choose from an extensive list of both institutions and subjects, students can also benefit from practicing one or more foreign languages. This is due to many of the training programs being taught in English. Moreover, there are many French speakers. Furthermore, Cambodia offers many opportunities to participate in both volunteer programs and internships. For instance, one can take advantage of GVI’s Business internship program or select from the ones provided by Projects Abroad. Volunteer programs include assisting in the medical and healthcare sectors, helping animals through wildlife conservation or veterinary care, teaching children and others. Studying in Cambodia also helps in preparing students in interacting with companies and representatives of different Asian cultures, which can be quite advantageous especially where trade and science is concerned. Lastly, while tuition fees can vary greatly, they tend to be less costly compared to others such as Brazil without compromising training quality. It should be noted, however, that proper care should be taken regarding what your medical insurance covers when it comes to international travel due to certain risks.
