    More details about the country

Bulgaria is small yet rich-in-culture-and-history country. It occupies the eastern portion of the Balkan Peninsula within southeastern Europe. It is a sovereign state which has significant geopolitical and trade importance as its territory intersects historically important routes from both Europe to the Mediterranean basin and to the Middle East. Founded in the 7th century, Bulgaria is one of the oldest states on the European continent, with evidence suggesting that civilizations may have settled even earlier as some of the oldest gold relics have been found on its territory. The sovereign state itself contains within its 111,002 square miles of land a diverse terrain including lowlands, broken mountain country, deep river gorges and harboring upland basins. Its neighbors include countries such as Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Greece, and Turkey. The capital of the country is Sofia, which is also one of the sovereign state’s largest cities alongside Varna and Plovdiv.

Bulgaria has quite a few opportunities to provide when it comes to academic studies. It is a country that offers a rather impressive list of accredited institutions including universities, colleges, and specialized schools. Many of these work in close collaboration with globally recognized organizations and universities such as IASS, NISPA, ELIA, and others. In addition to its extensive list of accredited institutions, the country also offers a broad range of subjects for study including Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Philology, and Arts. Also, certain institutions permit a student to study part-time, allowing them to gain experience and saving by working when they are not present in lectures or exams. International students, furthermore, will be able to practice their foreign language skills as many of the population speak one or more foreign languages such as English, Russian, German and French. Furthermore, many of the subjects and programs available can be taught in a foreign language such as English. In addition to the above-mentioned advantages, Bulgaria is also a country where living expenses tend to be lower than compared to other countries. Similarly, tuition fees tend to be less costly while still providing the same quality as countries such as France. Moreover, one should consider the country to study medicine as admission to the medical universities is not as restricted as in other countries.
