    More details about the country

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a republic located in the southeastern part of the European continent, on the Balkan Peninsula. It is a relatively large country that can be divided into two main geographic regions. The Bosnian region located on the northern side is mountainous and is covered with thick forests. The Herzegovina region, on the other hand, is located in the south and consists mostly of rugged and flat farmland. The country has about 12 miles of coastline along the shore of the Adriatic Sea. Its neighbors include Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia. The country’s largest city is Sarajevo with a population of 343,089. It is also the sovereign state’s capital.

Bosnia and Herzegovina can provide a student with excellent opportunities to receive a high-quality academic degree. This is due to the country offering an extensive list of universities, with some beginning their existence as early as the 1500s. A prime example of one such institution is the largest and oldest university in the country, the University of Sarajevo, which originally began as an Islamic madrasa in 1537. Apart from the impressive list of universities students can choose from, there is also a broad range of subjects from which one can select their future career path. Popular ones include Business, Economics, Law & Jurisprudence, Engineering, Management, Philology, Arts, IT, Computer Science, Finance & Banking. There are also subjects such as Psychology, Journalism, Media, Food and Nutrition, Hospitality and others. Furthermore, the country can provide many students an opportunity to work in their chosen field of study after graduation as many industries actively search for and recruit students. Care should be taken, however, when it comes to applying for a visa. While visitations under three months do not require applying for the document, studies that extend beyond three months do. The process itself can take some time and may require providing an application and approval letter from the institution of choice.
