    More details about the country

Belgium is one of Europe’s smallest countries. It holds a vital position within both the political and geographical map of the continent as it is at a crossroads location between well-developed countries such as Germany and France. It is also the seat of power for important organizations such as NATO and the European Union. It is a densely populated sovereign state, with the density according to the 2018 research being 967.4 people per sq. mile. Belgium is a federal constitutional monarchy with two legislative houses. Its neighbors include The Netherlands (formerly Holland), Germany, Luxembourg, and France. It also has about 40 miles of shoreline on the North Sea. Brussels is both the country’s capital and one of its largest cities.

Belgium is an often-considered location for obtaining an academic degree. This is due to the country having an impressive list of universities with a wide range of programs to select from. Many of the institutions in the country have a long history of training and teaching, with examples including the KU Leuven, which was founded in 1425. As already mentioned, there is a remarkable range of programs to choose from, with popular choices including fields/subjects such as Arts, Education, Management, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Communication, Health, Economics, and Medicine. Many of the programs can be taught in either English, Dutch, or French, which provides excellent opportunities to master one or more foreign languages based on the student’s preferences. Also, the degrees provided by the higher education institutions of the country are globally recognized, especially among the business and scientific communities. Similarly, Art degrees obtained in the country receive wide recognition due to the sovereign state’s history including producing famous painters such as René Magritte. Yet, while the country can provide certain benefits when it comes to academic studies and obtaining a degree, several factors are worth considering as they can become setbacks. To begin with, tuition fees can be rather costly, particularly if one’s budget restrictions do not permit flexibility. Also, there may be issues regarding balancing both lectures and work as the curriculum can be demanding.
