More details about the country
Aruba is a self-governing island situated to the southwest of the Lesser Antilles. It is a former part of the Netherlands Antilles that in 1986 became a separate self-governing part of the kingdom. It is a highly popular tourist destination due to the island’s beaches and nature, in addition to its interesting culture. The capital, chief port and administrative center of the state is the city of Oranjestad, located on the west coast of the island.
Aruba can be a suitable location to study abroad and obtain an academic degree. To begin with, although the self-governing state does have a relatively limited list of institutions of higher education, it does provide in-depth training on a relatively extensive list of study subjects, including Law & Jurisprudence, Tourism, Hospitality, Management, Accounting, Finance & Banking, Marketing, Arts, Education, Medicine, and others. In addition to the previously-mentioned advantages, Aruba is a suitable destination to hone foreign-language skills as the island has two official languages: Dutch and Papiamentu. In addition, English is also a commonly spoken tongue in the self-governing state. Students, furthermore, can hone other skills such as analysis of critical situations, interpersonal communication, data gathering, and others via participating in internships and volunteer programs, particularly in the fields of Communications, Management, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Education, Tourism, and others. However, one should bear in mind that a student visa may be necessary in order to enter the country and study in the institutions of higher education, therefore proper research and planning should be done.
